Here are a few pictures of oak leaf galls.
There are many different types of galls that can be found on many different types of trees. Galls can be found on leaves, twigs, branches, roots, bark, flowers, acorns, etc. A variety of insects cause galls to form; and galls have various shapes, sizes, colors and textures.
Most of the gall makers that attack oaks are wasps. That's right, gall wasps. Inside each gall is a wasp egg/larvae.
Some types of galls can cause probelms with your tree's health. For example, serious yearly infestations of Hackberry Galls, have been known to weaken Hackberry trees. However, the majority of galls are not life threatening to trees, but are unattractive nonetheless.
We offer treatments for several types of galls!
